Due to the overwhelming demand that I have had for weddings and events, I've decided to do them exclusively!
Starting in September, I'm going to specialize in photographing Weddings, Events, engagement, bridal, and boudoirs.
I have photographed many, many weddings, so it's a natural move for me professionally, and it will be fulfilling for me on a personal level as well, since I truly enjoy doing them.
I will be revamping my website, so expect to see some changes in that as well!

**Hard cover 4x5 album with 10 images from your session

All prints that you order will be digitally airbrushed by hand to eliminate any blemishes, your skin smoothed, and colors/features enhanced. Additional effects (black and white conversion, sepia, borders, etc.) can be added to final prints for no extra fee.

Boudoir sessions begin at $200.00.
Makeup and hair artist available upon request (advance notice necessary)

Remember this lovely bride? We did her engagements on the same day as the bridals, and she did a great job, on an extremely hot and bright day!
I finally get to share them with you, since the wedding is now over, and the groom has seen her in her gown......
I'll be posting some images from the wedding very shortly, as I know her guests are anxious to see them!

Bridal sessions are an important part of the wedding photography, and I recommend that all brides have one done! Most brides plan on having bridals taken on the day of the wedding, but most of the time there is no time to take pictures on such a busy day. Also, it's a nice touch when you have a large print of yourself in your gown to display at the reception!

The weather as of late has been just GORGEOUS! Hot, yes, but gorgeous none the less.
What better time to do more engagement portraits on such a gorgeous day, than with a gorgeous couple!
Too much gorgeous? I don't think so! Take a look at this lovely couple, and you too will say, "GORGEOUS!"

"R" is such a sweet and pretty bride-to-be, and such a trooper too! We did the engagement session AFTER the bridal session, so you can imagine how hot and tired she must have been.
I would post some bridal images, but I don't want her hubby-to-be to see her in her gown..........all I can say is........that's right...........GORGEOUS!!

{ANOTHER GREAT COUPLE}

I've been fortunate enough to have met so many good people through this profession, and I have to say that this couple is one of the best.....

We had a wonderful time getting these images shot, and I look forward to getting many more at their wedding!

They opted for a beach setting, and I must say it matched their personalities perfectly! I also had the chance to use one of my favorite props, my HUGE picture frame! You can't imagine the number of looks you get when you go to the beach lugging a big frame around with you.....

What a great session! I had the pleasure of photographing a great girl; extremely sweet, kind, and beautiful too!
She is trying out for the Houston Texans Cheerleaders, and I think that she has a good shot at making it.
Tryouts are coming up fast, and the hardest thing she will have to do is pick out which ONE photograph to present to them!
She looks great in every photo, and her confidence shines through. I wish her the best of luck in her tryouts, and I can't wait to hear how well she does!

Look at all the CUTENESS! Oh goodness, these babies were so sweet, they made my teeth hurt..........

These two little boys were EVERYWHERE! I don't know how their mommy and daddy keep up with them both, but kudos to you!

This little one was just a little sweetheart! She tolerated all that we did, even when we put her in the giant teacup! How many lumps of sugar did you want? :o)

I photographed a beautiful bride this past weekend; unfortunately, I can't share any of the portraits of her or her gorgeous flower girl until AFTER her wedding! I'm absolutely itching to share them, but I don't want the groom to see how lovely his future wife is in her wedding gown. {DECEMBER BRIDE}

What a wonderful time for a wedding! The bride, "P" was absolutely gorgeous in her beautiful wedding gown.
We took these at a hotel in Downtown Houston, and the location was perfect for the bride! Their wedding colors were red and gold, and as you can see, the hotel was completely decked out in red and gold colors.

{BEHIND THE SCENES}

For those of you who have wondered "what exactly goes on behind the scenes of a typical session," this is for you! And if you've never wondered what happens behind the scenes, well, my apologies......lol

To begin a session, you first need to scope out a good "spot" to start....

This is me, trying to figure out if the wind will carry the drape our model has. Oh, if you're wondering why I'm wearing blue latex gloves, it's because it was so cold that morning, my fingers were too cold to manage the controls on my camera and I had to keep them warm! You'd never know by looking at our model, but it was so very cold outside and the wind was blowing very hard. She was bundled up right up until we would start shooting, then "click, click , click", and then she would get bundled up again!

{DECEMBER MATERNITY SESSION}

Don't you just love Texas weather? Rainy one day, sunny the next, ten minutes later it's FREEZING COLD!

We lucked out with the weather when we decided to do a session on the beach; it was really cold, but at least it wasn't raining! Not a cloud in the sky either, which I haven't seen in a very long time!

Thanks to our Mom-to-be ("M") and her fantastic Mom! Moms make great assistants don't they?
Lots of thanks to two other FANTASTIC photographers (who accompanied me to the shoot), Debbie and Cindy! With three photographers photographing our Mom-to-be, it certainly made heads turn..........
I'll be sharing their "behind the scenes" images in the next blog entry, so be on the lookout for that.

{THE MAKING OF A CHRISTMAS CARD}

Okay, yes, it's that time of year again.......annual holiday card photos! I finally had time to set up and TRY to take a nice photo of my own child......easier said than done. Why is it so hard to photograph your own family?!
So, to all those parents with whom I've done "crazy" sessions with, I hope this makes you feel better!

Idea #1:
Me: "Sweetheart, I need you to hold this letter up for me, okay?"
Her: "Okay Mommy! Like this?"
Me: "No baby, you have to hold up the letter so I can see it."
Her: (giggles)
Me: "Um, sweetie, you need to turn around so I can see your face...."
(She makes a 180 degree turn)
Her: (giggles again)

Idea#2:
Me: "Okay, let's do another letter, but you have to hold it up really good so that Mommy can see the letter, okay?"
Her: "Yes, okay!" "Do you like my new dance?" (she starts dancing)
Me: "oh, yes, it's very nice, but sweetie, I need to be able to SEE the letter.."

Idea #3:

Me: "okay, let's pose with some ornaments, you like the ornaments, right?"

Her: "No."

Me: "Not even a little?"

Her: "no........I'm sleepy" (she's not sleepy, she just got up from a nap! lol)

Idea #4:

Me: "Can you sit down with the ornaments?"

Her: (giggles) "I like the ornaments now!"

Me: "Good sweetie! I'm glad......um, can you sit with them now?"

Her: "Look mommy, your lights make them shine!"

Me: "I know they do, just don't throw them, okay?"

Her: "I can throw them?"

Me: "No, no DON'T throw them! (she throws them, I sigh and look for my mug of hot cocoa I put down somewhere.....)

Her: "mommy, you said THROW THEM....."

After all of this, the little princess needs a cookie break........and so do I.
Idea #5:

Me: "Okay, we're almost done, can you sit down for a little bit and look at Mommy?"

Her: "yes.....like this?"

Me: "Yes, baby, just like that......."

The End. (until we have to take the family pictures....oy.)

Thank you to the NROTC at Prarie View A&M, Rice University, and University of Houston (go coogs!). You guys throw an AMAZING ball. The military sure know how to have a great time!

I've also photographed beautiful families, and maternity portraits as well. Thank you to "N" for inviting me to photograph such a personal time in your life. {FALL PICTURES}

It's that time of year again; FALL PICTURES!
I'll be doing an all day session once again, similiar to the one I did for Easter. I was completely booked up in less than 3 days; the response was just amazing.
The set for this year is "pumpkin' cuties." I've posted some examples of the set below:

Bring your childs' halloween costume so we can photograph

your "pumpkin' cutie!"

Also bring a "Fall" outfit for a more formal look.

The sessions will be scheduled in 30 minute blocks, allow 2 changes of clothing, and can include up to 4 children. The session location will be announced in the upcoming week, so be on the lookout for that! As soon as it's announced, reservations will be taken. Be sure to act fast, as slots fill up very quickly, and it's only a one-day event.

If you are a day care provider, school administrator, etc., and would be interested in a fund-raising opportunity, contact me and we can set up an appointment to discuss it! It's a great way to raise money for your organization, as a portion of the session fee and profits go to your group.

Beach sessions are getting to be more and more popular! It makes for a more beautiful backdrop than what you would get at those "chain" stores, right? You can't get water and sand in the studio! :o)
I had a wonderful time photographing this very loving couple; I'll also be photographing their wedding in October. They were up for anything! When I asked them if they were willing to get IN the water, they said, without hesitation, "YES!"
I think they forgot I was photographing them after a while; they really got into it! People who were on the beach were very interested in our little photo session as well.......

What a fantastic weekend! I got to hang out with and photograph 2 models on the Strand in Galveston; yes, I know, it's SO difficult to be a photographer :o)

I've had the privilage to photograph some of the most wonderful people!
I photographed a lovely couple this past week, and they were so fun-loving, and were willing to try anything. Needless to say, their upbeat attitude and obvious love for one another made for some great images.

FINALLY BACK ONLINE!

Oh, my goodness! I have waited so long to get this problem fixed with blogger......feels good to be blogging again!
Thank you for your patience during the time the blog was down.
Many things have been happening since January (my last post). Our Easter Session was quite successful, and we had MANY adorable kids come in to get photographed!

I also did a Bridal Session with a GORGEOUS bride; everything was lovely about her! Her husband is a very LUCKY guy!

Her wedding was absolutely lovely as well; her family made it truly a day to remember! Congratulations to the Bride and Groom, and may you have a lifetime of happiness!

{GLOOMY WEATHER}

The weather in Houston has been absolutely unbelievable for the past few weeks. The variations in temperature has surprised everyone; including our local newscasters!

I was in San Antonio last weekend for an imaging expo, and while we were there, the major freeze hit the area. Freeways were shut down-- as well as on ramps and off ramps, bridges.......ways to get out of the city were closed. The morning that we were leaving to return to Houston our car was ENCASED in ice....icicles skirted the underside of the bumpers and the side mirrors. It improved as we got to Houston, and amazingly, the ice stayed on the car the entire trip back to the house. Of course, Houston didn't get quite the freeze that our San Antonio neighbors got, so we garnered more than a few puzzled looks as our icicle laden car trekked back into town.

Anyway, all that ice and this cold, wet weather made me think of warmer times, so I decided to post some images from the summer. These were taken at a kiddie park in San Antonio that my family used to take us to when I was just a small child. It's great fun, and still very colorful.

Happy New Year to Everyone! I hope that this new year brings many happy memories, as last year was plagued with many unhappy moments.
I also want to take this chance to say "Thank you" to all our troops who have sacrificed so many things for our Nation.
As my way of saying thank you, I would like to offer my photographic services to our women and men on active status in the Military. I would like to offer a free family photo session (30 minutes), along with 1 Free 8x10 and 2 Free 5x7 prints. {Christmas Puppies}

I had a wonderful session with 2 very adorable, energetic (that's an understatement) puppies this week, and wow, did they wear me out! They are a matching set, one boy and one little girl, and are just about the cutest things on earth! Their mommy made sure that they had lots of treats, (which she makes from scratch,)and made sure they were on their best behavior. It was really fun working with them, although their energy level was comparable to 2 active toddlers! We would get one puppy where we wanted it to be, then the other puppy would decide to wander off, we would get the wandering puppy back on the backdrop, then the puppy that was ready would run somewhere else!

{Reason to Celebrate}

As my previous post stated, it is the "busy season" for everyone! I see many people rushing around, buying presents for loved ones, feverishly trying to make their Christmas lights better than their neighbor's lights........sometimes we forget why we celebrate the season. I came across this video and it was always a seasonal favorite of mine and my family's. And to those who celebrate other holidays, have a Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, or just celebrate your families.

{The Busy Season}

It's been a wonderfully busy holiday season, and with this level of activity comes lots of images. I had the honor of photographing the Baptism of a very adorable little baby girl, and her family. I hope to post some photographs of the baby and the family soon, so be on the lookout for those!

This is actually the very large front door of the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in downtown Houston. The carved details of this piece of art are just absolutely breathtaking...

He is situated right at the front of the church, and greets everyone passing by...
