{SENIOR PICTURES}

All right, yes, I'm posting TWICE in one day. However, it is completely beneficial to you as a client, especially if you are a high school SENIOR. Believe it or not, this is the prime time to take your senior pictures! You absolutely need to have those great wallet photos to hand out to all of your friends; after all, you want them to remember you forever, right?
So, as a result of much cajoling by some photographer associates of mine, I am offering 24 FREE wallets with your senior session (That's a $42 value.) Also, your wallet photo can be used as a very valuable coupon. If your friends complete a session with me and they show your wallet photo, they receive 24 FREE wallets from their session as well! Since you referred those friends to me, you deserve a reward--24 more wallet reprints....for free. Unbelievable, you say? It's all true, but like most things in life, it can't last forever........so, this splendid offer ends September 30, 2006. So put it off no longer, and schedule a session with The Davidson Gallery for your special senior portraits.

{ANIMAL LOVE}

Here's some shots I took of our dog, Bailey, and his cat, Maxwell. They pal around ( much to the dismay of Bailey,) but I think there is a mutual understanding and tolerance. Don't you wish all people had this outlook? Together, they get into all sorts of trouble, and I think they work together to drive us insane. It seems to me that they pick the most inopportune times to play, "let's chase the imaginary fly around the entire house," and "tag, you're it," with each other. We used to have a bunny rabbit (named Harry) before our daughter came along, and boy oh boy, having a rabbit, a dog, and a cat jumping around really is quite a sight! Harry now lives in San Antonio with my sister, who spoils that bunny to the extreme. Harry is trying to be "invisible" in this picture; he seems to think that if he makes himself as small as possible, you can't see him (or bother him for that matter!) Ah, what a silly bunny.

We used to have quite a menagerie.....we had 2 rats, a siberian hamster, a teddy bear hamster, many goldfish, 2 turtles, 3 hermit crabs, 2 madagascar hissing cockroaches (made famous by Fear Factor--they make excellent pets by the way--I can't believe people eat those), and a partridge in a pear tree. Just joking on the partridge, but everything else is quite true.

When I was teaching, I somehow ended up with a lot of little critters in need. So, they became "mascots" in the classroom, and the students always took great pride in having them in the class. You're probably wondering what became of all of these animals? Well, many of them passed from old age, some were given away to great homes, and the turtles lived in my outdoor pond until one extremely rainy day the pond overflowed and well, the turtles made a break for it!

Needless to say, I enjoy and love all animals and critters, and yes, we are those people who will pull over to the side of the road to rescue that stray dog, cat, or to help a turtle cross the road. (turtles happen to be one of my favorite animals ever!) If you see an animal in need, I implore you to help them...they need our help sometimes, and it may not seem like a big deal to a person, but it can help to save an animal's life.

{APOLLO}

I want to extend my sympathies to my mom-in-law, who recently lost her best friend of 13 years.......her very beloved rottie named Apollo. He was absolutely the most loving rottweiller I've ever known, and so very smart. He was always very gentle, but he was also the most alert guard dog! He loved to chase flies, the occasional squirrel, and I think all of the cats in the neighborhood knew to steer clear of Apollo's wrought iron fence!
His bones and body were riddled by arthritis and exhaustion, but you would never know how much pain he was in because he always put our emotions ahead of his own.........always loving, always there to comfort us.
We had him cremated, because we could not bear having him buried so far away from us. He's ready to come home now, and where ever he is, we know he's happy and playing with our other "little ones" we've lost over the years.
Hug your animals and tell them how much you love them....

(This picture was taken a few weeks before he died, and yes, he always smiled like that!)

I have such a lot to learn about blogging; I had no idea that so many things were possible! I've just added a new slide show to the blog; it's similiar to the one that's currently posted on my main website, www.TheDavidsonGallery.com . I've also added some music to the blog, which is a great way for me to listen to music while I am working on the computer! There are over 90 songs listed on the "myblogtunes," so if you would like to, you can minimize the blog window while the music is playing, and do your work in another window while listening.
I'm also having a special on my session fees--postcard mailings should be going out about the sale shortly, however, if you email me and book a session, I will take $50.00 off the session fee and you will also receive 2 FREE 5x7's from your session. This is a combined savings of $74.00......a real bargain! (expires August 28, 2006)

I look forward to photographing you and your loved ones!

Friday, August 11, 2006

Hello everybody! I decided to post a blog because I like to keep up with all the wonderful people that I have been in contact with, both personal and in business.
I'll begin by giving a brief background on myself.....I'm married to a wonderful man who supports and loves me no matter how silly I can be, and together, we created a beautiful, smart, funny daughter! (she's the little fairy on the left)
We just celebrated her 2nd birthday, and we still can't believe that the time just passed so quickly.
I'm sure most of you with kids understand what I'm talking about!
I was a teacher (I taught middle school science,) and I have to tell you, it was incredible to be able to teach our young people on a daily basis. Especially SCIENCE! Love it, Love it! I also made great friends at the school where I taught, and without a doubt, those people are the most talented teachers on this planet!
Well, long story short, when the little princess came along, I decided to leave my middle school family to take care of my own.....
Which brings us to the creation of "The Davidson Gallery - Artistic Photography."
I love photography, and I love taking photographs of the people I love. I extend this love to my clients and their families, as everyone should have a wonderful memory of a special period of time, or a special event.
I believe that every photograph is an investment; it represents the time taken out of your busy schedule to capture a moment, the care involved to get everyone ready, and the emotions involved when you see the finished result. Photographs have the ability to freeze time and remember, and they also have to power to transcend time and enable our memories to be passed down from generation to generation.
I will photograph those special moments, and treat them as my own........because in a way, they belong to everyone once you share them with the ones you love.
